As long as the gap is even on an interior door it shouldn t be why a door isn t closing properly.

Once that was removed and the lvp installed there is about a half inch to 3 4 inch gap between the exterior door jamb and the floor.
I suspect the solution is not to keep adjusting or replacing the doors although squeaking hinges are a sign is misaligned hinges which is a sign that either the install was not true and square.
To fix the issue the doors need to be removed bottom of the jambs cut and reset the door.
With this clearance in mind if you install a door lets say over concrete floor and sills are limited to 1 2 in height to comply with ada when you add 1 2 sill you still have 7 8 1 gap for air circulation.
The contractors tried to seal it using caulk but it doesn t look so great in my opinion.
